OVER 38 MILLION AMERICANS UNEMPLOYED: Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell and Federal Reserve Governor Lael Brainard host ‘Fed Listens,’ a virtual event to discuss the economic effects of coronavirus pandemic. The Labor Dept. announced that an additional 2.4 million Americans filed for unemployment the past week, bringing the total number of claims to over 38 million in the past two months. A recent survey from the U.S. Census Bureau found that almost half of all adults reported that at least one member of their households has lost their job since March, while a Federal Reserve study found that 40% of all workers making $40k or less per year have lost their jobs.
